Cincinnati, OH - Prince Fielder went 2-for-4 with a triple, a pair of RBI and two runs scored, as the Milwaukee Brewers edged the Cincinnati Reds, 5-3, in the second contest of a four-game set at Great American Ball Park

Yovani Gallardo started for Milwaukee and pitched 6 2/3 strong innings of one- run ball. Gallardo (3-1) scattered six hits while walking three and striking out two.

Gallardo, Damian Miller and Geoff Jenkins all knocked in a run for the Brewers, who won for the second time in their last five games.

Cincinnati starter Matt Belisle (5-7) lasted just 3 2/3 frames as the right- hander gave up four runs on six hits.

Adam Dunn hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning for the Reds, who have four losses over their last five games.

Milwaukee manufactured a run in the second to take an early lead. Fielder led things off with a walk and Kevin Mench followed with a single. The runners then moved up a base on Jenkins’ groundout, and Fielder then scored on Miller’s sacrifice fly to deep right.

The Brewers scored three runs in the fourth to increase their lead to 4-0. They took a two-run lead on Fielder’s first triple of the season. Ryan Braun singled to lead off the frame and easily scored as Fielder hit a long drive that hit off the top of the left-field wall as the ball caromed away from Dunn and into the corner. Fielder then scored on Jenkins’ ground-rule double to right for a three-run lead. Miller worked a walk before Gallardo helped himself with a base hit up the middle that scored Jenkins to make it a four- run advantage.

Cincinnati finally got on the board in the seventh. Pinch-hitter Ryan Freel opened the frame with a base hit and he scored on Scott Hatteberg’s one-out double to the gap in right to make it 4-1.

Derrick Turnbow started the eighth inning for Milwaukee and Brandon Phillips greeted him with a base hit. Dunn then launched a home run to center to pull the Reds within a run.

Fielder’s RBI single in the ninth made it a two-run contest before Francisco Cordero closed things out in the bottom of the inning for his 32nd save of the season.
