Detroit coming off 2 game mini slump in which they have only lost 3 in row all year, and it was Verlander who lead them out of the darkness of losing. However they are matched up against a 40-year-old knuckleballer who has been perhaps the most effective of all in the Bosox rotation.

Wakefield (4-3, 1.79 ERA) boasts the lowest ERA in the AL, and has not allowed more than three earned runs in any of his seven starts. He has thrown 14 shutout innings to win his last two outings, giving him the longest active scoreless innings streak among major league starters.

Tim comes into this contest with a Projected ERA of 2.55 and Verlander with a much higher 6.44, so I have to go with the BoSox here on a 4 game winning streak and one of the most baffling pitchers to hit. It can look like a wiffle ball out there at times.
