Detroit has clinched the #1 seed throughout the playoffs and may rest players. HC Saunders said Thursday he had not decided how much rest his starting lineup would get in the final four games of the regular season. Last year, he let most of the starters get at least one game off once the schedule whittled down to inconsequential games. This year, he’s not sure he’ll follow the same plan. “We’re definitely going to give guys rest,” Saunders said. “But, we might use it (in) more of a practice-type situation than anything else.” That means his starters could open the game on the floor, but stay in just long enough to make sure they maintain crispness.
DETROIT - G Chauncey Billups (thigh) upgraded to probable Billups took a knee in his right thigh Wednesday, but should be fine today. He took treatment at Thursday’s practice.

MINNESOTA - F Kevin Garnett (quad) is out indefinitely. The team announced about 90 minutes before Wednesday night’s tipoff against the Dallas Mavericks that Garnett is out indefinitely because of pain in his right quadriceps, a condition that hadn’t been disclosed previously. The announcement came fewer than 48 hours after the Wolves were eliminated from the race to make the Western Conference playoffs.
